JKSSB Announces PST/PET Schedule for JKP Constable Posts

Srinagar, Aug 12 (ProKashmiri.in): The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced the schedule for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) for candidates applying to the post of Constables in Armed, IRP, SDRF, and Executive wings. The tests, which will cover Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and candidates from the Gorkha community and Bot tribe, will begin from August 19, 2025, at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.

The recruitment process pertains to vacancies advertised through Notification No. 01 of 2024 under Item Nos. 01, 02, 05, and 06. According to the official notification issued today, the tests will be conducted for candidates who have opted for Kashmir Division as their examination venue.

The JKSSB has strictly directed all shortlisted Ex-Servicemen candidates to carry their matriculation certificate as proof of age, along with other necessary documents, on the day of the PST/PET. Officials have clarified that no candidate will be allowed to participate without the mandatory documents.

Similarly, shortlisted candidates from the Gorkha community and Bot tribe must bring their valid category certificates issued by the competent authority. This is essential to avail any relaxation in PST standards applicable to their category. Supporting documents must also be produced at the venue.

The notification, signed by Reyaz Ahmad Malik (JKAS), Controller of Examinations, also stated that candidates must ensure they reach the venue on time and comply with all instructions issued by the authorities to avoid disqualification.

The JKSSB has already issued prior notice on July 29, 2025, regarding the conduct of these tests, and this latest announcement serves as a continuation with specific instructions for the aforementioned categories.

The Board has forwarded copies of the order to senior officials, including the Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, and the Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, for further action. Directions have also been given to the Directorate of Information & Public Relations to publish the notice in leading newspapers in Jammu and Srinagar for wider public reach.

The PST/PET is a crucial stage in the Constable recruitment process, and candidates are advised to prepare in accordance with the prescribed physical standards. Any failure to meet the required benchmarks or to produce the necessary documents on the day of the test will lead to immediate disqualification.
